Friends in Need; RL with Azula

After securing a worldhop (which was actually pretty hard to get, considering all the crazy "shadow" things going on, but Ryan is magic and gets what he wants), Ryan showed up at the AU house that's completely empty. Well, okay then. Azula always struck him as a minimalist so, cool.

He wandered through the place a little cautiously, since he knew that Azula was a little... um, easily annoyed. "Azula?"

Ryan didn't bother to point out the hypocrisy going on and instead shrugged. "How about now?"

She moved onto her side, turning her back to him. The answer was obvious.

He shifted and watched her back for a minute. "I'm just saying - you're really tense right now and sad about Dr. Cuddy. Maybe a book or a movie or something would... help out."

"If the furniture were where it's supposed to be, your head would be under the dresser," she commented, trying in vain to change the subject. "It's unfortunate that that's not the case."

He made a face. "Don't be so mad at me for wanting you to be happy, Azula. Somebody has to do it, since you're not."

"Who said I was so mad?"

"Uuuh, saying you think my head under a dresser would be a good idea and being... sulky is kind of an indicator." He pointed at her lazily, "Remember, I have a sister."

"I'm not sulky," she said sulkily. "I'm far too mature to sulk."

Ryan couldn't help but laugh at that, even if that might've been a bad idea.

"What?" she asked indignantly.

"Nothing," he chuckled, shaking his head. "You just... said that like you were pouting. Not really helping your argument."

"I don't pout, either."

"Yes you do."

"How would you know? You weren't even looking at me."

"You make video posts sometimes and you kind of pout. Besides, I can totally tell." His life was full of girls pouting, after all. He knew how it was done, even when it was only done in spirit.

"I don't pout in video posts. I never look anything but fierce and intimidating."

"..." He shook his head. "Azula, you looked upset and kind of worried in your last video post."

"And which one would that be?" She knew, of course, but...

He raised an eyebrow. "The one that made me decide to come out here. I wouldn't have been so worried for you if I hadn't seen it."

"Being worried for me is stupid. It should be obvious by now that I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself."

"That doesn't mean I won't worry about you. I like you, so I'm gonna worry if you look like you're not doing well." Which was how Azula looked.

"I think I look like I'm doing fine." She straightened her robe and smoothed her hair as surreptitiously as possible.

"I think you look like you could use a manicure, personally, but maybe that's just because that usually cheers people up." Including him. Not that he would ever say so.

"I had one three days ago. I like going to the spa."

He grinned, easing into the topic with no trouble. "Me too. There's nothing more relaxing than a facial or a massage, seriously. The spa at the country club my parents are part of is amazing."
